Shrimp Club
A 8-Month Live Mentoring Party
With Laura Belgray
Want in for the next round?
The ultimate freedom: getting paid to be you, on your terms. Thirsty?
For years, people asked for a way to work with me in a group format and get ongoing support.
They wanted help not only with copy, but with figuring out the whole “what do I really want” question.
They wanted a model of what’s possible—because they didn’t see anyone with a business they really coveted.
(I mean, let’s face it: for every laptop-on-the-beach type making [*cough* alleged] tons of money, don’t you end up saying, “Yeah, great, but do I actually want to be or sound like that cheeseball? And do I want that person’s business?” #yeanotsomuch)
They wanted a lifeline, most of all, to that nirvana of career freedom where you feel like you’re getting paid—preferably, paid a shit-ton—to be you.
...Where you take so much joy in your work that you look up and hours have passed. And, where you get to call the shots.
What can you get out of Shrimp Club?
Hear from satisfied Shrimpers...
Thanks to Shrimp Club I managed to have multiple $30,000 months.
Joining Shrimp Club was one of the best decisions I’ve made for my business yet. There’s that saying that you're the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with—well, you are the average of the group of Shrimpers that you get to be a part of, and I feel so lucky that I got to be a part of it.
Not only did I meet really interesting, smart, kind, generous entrepreneurs, but I got to learn so much from Laura and what I really experienced in my own business was a skyrocketing of my personal brand. It took off in a big way, and I think because the environment in the group really supports this idea of putting yourself out there, of building your brand, of letting yourself be seen. I feel like I got to capitalize on that and find new and creative channels to grow my list (which almost doubled in the time that I was in Shrimp Club), to bring in more clients, to slap shit up and put out new offers.
So, thanks to Shrimp Club I managed to have multiple $30,000 months and found myself in a new level of confidence in my business overall with the cohort to support me along the way. Laura, thank you for making Shrimp Club. I am a huge fan, and to anyone considering joining it, it’s kind of a no-brainer.
- Frenchie Ferenczi, Business Strategist and Startup Advisor
In the time I was in Shrimp Club, I wrote my book, built my brand, and launched to my list!
First of all, Laura has changed my life completely. Fundamentally. When we had our first hot seat, she wanted us to give a bit of our background. Once I got through all of my professional background and having been in TV for 20 years and lots of awards and what I was currently doing, I told her about something I’ve been doing for the last 15 years which is I record my kids answering the same set of questions every year on their birthday.
I started crying. I got emotional, and she said, “Well, that’s what you have to do! You gotta write a book. You gotta tell other moms about that.” I hadn’t connected that I could actually do something that I love to do and something I’ve been doing as a hobby for 15 years, with building a business.
In the time I was in Shrimp Club, I wrote the book with Laura’s assistance. Thank God she was also doing Tough Titties at the time so she had lots of great insights and really was a motivator. I built my brand — the big thing is, a couple of months after joining and having this epiphany, I launched to my list. I have a growing list of really engaged people, something I’ve been dreaming of doing for 10 years. I understood the whole idea of building a list and that the gold is in the list. Laura made it concrete, and it happened.
So, she’s just amazing. I got great results. Laura really taught me how to make money being me. She’s a shining light to beat-up creatives all over the globe. She’s kind, insightful, and successful. I wanted to be the most authentic version of me, and she really brought that out.
She really helped me grow, so I treasure my time in Shrimp Club as well as the proximity to Laura and Laura’s set of people. We had a retreat in New York in April, and Laura hosted drinks at her home and we got to meet her husband and see how she lives which was amazing. Laura’s amazing and I totally recommend joining Shrimp Club.

Hear a roundup of Shrimp Club Wins!
Until Shrimp Club, the only way to get my brain on your business and your writing was through private sessions—pricey, and in short supply.
At long last, I cleared space to dream up this offering. No modules, no heavy curriculum to fall behind on.
Just you, doing your best work ever...and me, giving you feedback in the way I work best: live, on-the-spot coaching. In a group.
Best of all, you’ll learn from someone who’s like you.
Someone who’s taken a while to figure things out. Hi! Here I am!
I became more confidently ME because of Shrimp Club!
Laura Belgray is the best! Shrimp Club changed the game for me, I became more confidently ME. Who knew a Jewish woman from NYC would change the life of a Christian Life Coach from California?!
Laura has become one of my greatest mentors and cheerleaders, and I’m forever grateful to have her in my corner! Everyone needs a Laura in their life.
Shrimp Club is not what you think it is. You get out of it, what you put in with the relationship and wealth of knowledge in the community too—some of my nearest and dearest I’ve met through Shrimp Club.
Laura, I love you, and I’m forever grateful you pushed me to bet on myself!
- Dani Sumner, Spiritual Director and Life Transformation Coach
Never have I felt so changed.
I've been in many masterminds with names you'd recognize. Never have I felt so...changed. Laura delivers a unique blend of marketing & business wisdom, personal encouragement (she is always building us up) and a no bullshit "take it or leave it" example of how to live life on your own terms.
If there's a creative spark inside of you that needs to be nurtured, or you need practical, effective, nuts-and-bolts guidance on how to grow your business - there is no leader like Laura and there is no other community like Shrimp Club. Ten stars.
- Kory Basaraba, CEO, Storyresponse.com
Shrimp Club helped me create a multi 6 figure business.
When I joined Shrimp Club, I was not a copywriter. I was a coach. I was in my first full-time year of business. I think I made about $4,000. In the time that I was Shrimp Club, I became known as the “Slap Shit Up Queen”. During that time I launched my first group program, I launched a membership, and I created and launched my app from my cupboard (Soul Breathwork). I became someone new.
I invested in the person that I wanted to become so the investment was scary. I felt like a major fraud being in the group but as I tell all my clients — if you don’t feel like a fraud, you’re not stretching. I went from being a baby business owner to a woman with a multi 6 figure dollar business. Never look at investments as costs. Look at what you’re casting a vote for and look at what you’re becoming.
If you’re looking for a place where you can meet people and perhaps meet potential clients (so many Shrimpers are now my clients and they’re in my community), it’s a beautiful place. It’s a fun fucking place to learn and grow and stretch. You won’t regret it!
- Iona Holloway, Coach & Founder of bravething.co
Shrimp Club was hands down the best investment I could have ever made in my business!
Having Laura as a mentor is like having a world-class cheerleader there to push you to the next level and remind you that business gets to be fun. Not only is she incredibly sharp and witty and strategic, but she has a fabulous ability to make you feel seen for your unique gifts and help extract those gifts so you can bring more of yourself to the world.
During Shrimp Club, I was able to go outside of my comfort zone in a way that felt so playful and full of so much joy. I found myself taking rapid action with ease, and it paid off. Before Shrimp Club, I was shy to bring all of myself loudly and proudly and boldly onto the Internet. And one of the biggest results that I got was that now being visible feels like a natural extension of my creativity.
Over the last 9 months, I started a brand new segment of my email list and monetized it, and launched a product that felt like a merging of so many of my different passions. I feel like being myself in my business is actually the gold of what I'm creating, and there's no one better than Laura to show you that it’s possible. You can have the business you want. You can have the personal life you want. It can all feel easy and relaxed, and it can feel fun as you stretch and grow and expand.
The best part about Shrimp Club is the community because while you're in this period of growth, you're being uplifted by a crew of badass entrepreneurs. I found so many opportunities to collaborate with other people in Shrimp Club. Whether it was with some of the best copywriters that I've been able to meet in business or some of the most strategic minds. It was like having a consistent mastermind of people to brainstorm ideas in my business or get feedback or advice on something I needed. I know these connections are going to continue to support me as I continue along my journey.
I think the biggest takeaway for me is that being able to stay true to my self-expression is possible, it gets to be fun. If you are considering joining Shrimp Club, I would encourage you to just do it because you're not going to regret the investment. It's worth every single penny.
And the “you” that you'll get to be at the end of 9 months (if you're anything like me) is going to surprise yourself with what you're capable of creating, and that is truly invaluable. I could not have picked a better mentor than Laura and a better community than Shrimp Club.
- Mary Schroeder, COO, Unconventional Life
I turned my 1:1 TEDx coaching program into a group program, finally wrote my children's book, and more!
When I joined Shrimp Club, I knew I wanted a few things:
1) I wanted to turn my 1:1 TEDx coaching program into a group program. Did that. Check check check. It’s called “Amplify” and I’m getting ready to launch it AGAIN!
2) I wanted to learn more about how Laura has created a 7-figure business without having to manage a team. I managed a team in my last business, and I’m happily solopreneur-ing in my current one. Of course, Laura is always open and generous when it comes to sharing the behind-the-scenes, but as a member of Shrimp Club, I got to see it all in action.
3) I wanted to be in the room with the kind of business owners Laura attracts — and hoo boy, that did not disappoint. What a room.
And that was all AWESOME: My new group program. Understanding what’s possible for my business. Growing my community of thoughtful, creative business owners.
But something else happened that I didn’t even know I was looking for…
A long time ago, I started writing a children’s book. I got stuck and put it away and never looked at it again. During Shrimp Club, I was inspired to take out that dusty old document — and I turned it into a full manuscript. I wrote my children’s book. And now I’m learning how to publish it.
And, ohhhh, my heart is so full.
So the moral of the story is — Shrimp Club is a place of possibilities. And sometimes, those are possibilities you didn’t even envision.
I hope you’ll join Shrimp Club, friend. I hope you’ll put yourself in that room of possibilities and see them come alive for you.
- Cathlyn Melvin, TEDx Coach & Messaging Expert
I now teach, consult, and fill my programs. I'm free from around-the-clock client needs, finally!
Joining Shrimp Club was the best decision I’ve made. I was emotional on the first day: So much was going on in the world (2020), and I felt like what I was doing was so small. My instinct was to hide, but Shrimp Club really inspired me to do the opposite. I’m an introvert, but Laura encouraged me to create a halo of credibility and authority around my expertise (LinkedIn), even when I feel quiet—and it’s worked!
The hot seats alone are worth the total investment, in addition to a supportive community of brilliant Shrimpers. I now teach, consult and fill my programs, and am free from where I was before: being at the mercy of client needs around the clock.
- Marietta Gentles Crawford, Personal Brand Strategist and LinkedIn Expert
Now, people know who I am. They're talking about me when I'm not in the room. I couldn't be happier.
Because of Shrimp Club, I created my first information product and launched my first group program. Both were so successful that I created another group program, "Success Story," which is a hands-down hit and the least work-intensive project I've done.
And, Laura got me to start writing for myself! thought I would make less money if I didn't spend all my time writing for other people, but I've found that I just, keep charging more and accepting less work.
Most of all: people know who I am. That's what I wanted. They're talking about me without me being in the room, so I couldn't be happier!
- Dr. Cindy Childress, The Expert's Ghostwriter
I finally found my voice! I now "get" copy and successfully launched an email-only launch, which I was skeptical about because it felt too easy. Turns out "easy" works!
Shrimp Club gave me a behind-the-scenes look into the creative copy genius brain of Laura Belgray. Before learning from Laura I was scared to write my list because I was scared to show up as myself. I walked away from the experience confident in my writing because I finally found my voice.
Now I consistently write my list and I get email replies that say, "I'm glued to your emails" and "Your emails are so good! I'm not even kidding." As someone who's not a copywriter, Laura made it easy to "get" copy.
Plus I successfully launched an email-only launch, which I was skeptical would work because it felt too easy. Turns out "easy" works.
- Sandy Park, Founder of Tidy with SPARK
Shrimp Club introduced me to a universe of experts and connections.
I joined Shrimp Club because I had gotten so much value out of all the Shrimp programs, from The Copy Cure to Inbox Hero, that I knew it would be a sure thing.
What I got out of Shrimp Club was so much more than I ever imagined. Through Shrimp Club, I entered a universe of experts and connections — from PR and copywriters to content creators and strategic advisors to Pinterest experts and book developers.
It is through Shrimp Club that I further developed and honed my core programs and began to expand my goals and reach with supportive monthly hot seats to try out my messaging and new directions.
- Dana DiPrima, Founder of For Farmers Movement
I met some of my closest business friends in Shrimp Club! It's THE perfect mastermind for introverts like me.
Shrimp Club is THE perfect mastermind group for introverts like me.
It's like Laura knows exactly what business struggles we go through. She must be an introvert. 🤔
The best part of it is that I met some of my closest business friends here. Finally, getting to see Laura do her magic right there on Google Docs was just the cherry on top!
- Sun Yi, Founder of Night Owls, Storytelling Expert
Shrimp Club made this writer a better writer (and loads more money).
I joined to learn everything I could about how Laura built her business. She delivered on that, and so much more. Thanks to Laura and my amazing fellow Shrimpers, I'm hitting ALL the goals:
60% email open rates.
Consistent 5-figure months.
A 3-month client waitlist.
My highest project fee ever.
On top of all that, I've become a better writer (when I thought I was pretty damn good to begin with). And the connections I've made? Priceless. Shrimp Club is everything. Do it.
- Jenn Aspinwall, Brand Copywriter + Strategist
I truly believe that Shrimp Club was the final gateway drug that sparked my addiction to 100% myselfness in everything I do in my business.
- Paige Worthy, Marketing + brand voice for businesses that give a sh*t
I met a community of the coolest business owners who I continue to collaborate with today!
From the moment I found out about Shrimp Club I wanted IN. It was time to shake things up and look at my business in a different way. I knew that if anyone was going to help me do that it would be Laura Belgray!
Laura's masterful feedback and generosity when it comes to sharing everything she knows about email marketing, growing (and selling to) your list and building a widely successful business by writing brilliantly crafted emails, storytelling and lucrative partnerships is epic.
During my time in Shrimp Club, I changed my approach to emailing my list, brought more of my authentic voice into my brand and took my copywriting skills to a whole new level. Plus, I gained a whole community of the coolest business owners who I continue to collaborate with to this day. Truly priceless!
- Stacey Brass-Russell, Business & Life Transformation Coach
I loved my time in Shrimp Club! I landed more in my natural writing voice with the great copy feedback from Laura and my fellow Shrimpers. It's such a supportive community and I was grateful for how fully and openly everyone showed up to the calls.
- Marie-Elizabeth Mali, Founder and CEO of Relationship Alchemy®
“I want that, but I don’t want to DO that.”
I should be so much farther ahead.
That’s the thought I had for years. Since I started my business in 2009, I saw a number of my friends who’d started with me become huge names with even huger yearly revenues.
I wanted the glory—especially the money part. But when I looked at what they were doing for it, I thought, “I don’t want to do that.”
- I didn’t want to hire, pay, and manage a team.
- I didn’t want to run cheesy facebook ads.
- I didn’t want to start a podcast. (Well, I don’t mind starting one, but I don’t want to keep it up.)
- I didn’t want to start being “all business” in my blogs or emails.
- I didn’t want to “niche down.”
- I didn’t want to stop watching TV, wake up at 5, do a “miracle morning” routine (I consider it a miracle if I get up before 9), or work till my eyes bleed. That’s what Gary V. says to do.
- Sales calls? Nope, didn’t want to do those, either.
I didn’t want to do any of the things you’re “supposed to do,” really. (A good clue why I couldn’t hack it in the corporate world.)
I didn’t want to be them. I wanted to be me. And get paid for it.
I wondered, is there anyone out there built like me -- a somewhat lazy, rule-dodging, late-sleeping, TV-loving, professional late bloomer -- but who is, nevertheless, creatively fulfilled and doing life right?
⬆︎If that’s how you feel now, you’re in the exact right place.
You might have noticed that I:
- Raise my prices frequently (from $250 to $750 to $950 per hour…and then, before retiring them, $1450)...
- Took clients only on Wednesdays, until I didn't take them AT ALL...
- Wake up when I want, putter, go for a walk, get my iced coffee, and start the workday when I’m good and ready...
- Have earned over 6 figures from one affiliate launch, with a relatively weenie list...
- Cracked the $1 Mil in a year mark, without a big team, ad spend, webinars, enormous launches, or even a huge list...
- Make that sweet “passive income” (it smells like fresh-baked cookies) with my own mini-products...
- “Get away” with writing my copy about whatever I want to write about...
And it’s all without being a natural go-getter or rule follower.
I’ve never had the discipline to consistently do things I’m not obsessed with.
And, I’ve never done things the way you’re supposed to. Take this page. I didn’t start it with the usual “Is this you?”/ “This is for you if” thing because that’s fine and it works, but I’m tired of it and, I imagine, so are you.
Plus, let’s face it.
If you’re here, you already know you’re interested.
(Hint: that’s probably because you know me through my copy. The magic of words! You can do that too -- get people to know and trust you so deeply, they don’t even need the super-long, traditional sales page.)
That said, this is perfect if you’re a:
- Copywriter
- Service-based business owner
- Other type of “personal brand”
and you:
- Already know the basics of online business...
- Make what you consider decent money but still feel stuck…
- Are ready to accelerate...
- Have an email list, even if it’s teeny...
...And you want to:
Share your genius with your audience regularly and dependably -- building trust and connection that allows you to raise your prices, and makes them practically throw their credit cards at you.
Be sought-after -- so the buyers and clients come to you, happily ready to pony up the cash. (I got booked up at $1450/hour, and never had a sales call!)
Write content and copy that’s funny, entertaining, and dangerously addictive. Your audience will thank you...and curse you (“Damn you, I got busted reading your email and buying your course during a meeting.”)
Become the most effective, compelling, and confident writer you’ve ever been -- expressing what matters to you in a way you’re proud of, and easily getting people to laugh, cry, and buy with your words.
Figure shit out. Like, what could your business look like if you spent your days doing the part you love, instead of all the stuff you hate?
Have an unmistakably “you” voice that comes through in your brand and makes you unforgettable, irresistible, and the ONLY choice for your dream clients and customers.
Become so obsessed with writing, you can’t NOT do it
Find out how to work your seemingly random, disconnected stories and little details of your life (the things you’d tell your friends) into your content in a way that strikes a chord with your audience. That’s right, you can even make them care about your avocado toast.
Set boundaries that create beautiful, soothing blank space all over your calendar -- without cutting into your earning power. (I use that time to veg out in front of trashy Bravo shows or take long walks. Highly recommend both! )
Finally, finally clarify your vision and go for it. Because nothing’s more motivating than knowing what you want.
Step out of the shadows and become known for being the superstar you are: as {First Name} F*cking {Last Name}.
I started writing more, getting more traction from my content and email, and found my people.
The community is mindblowing!
Not only is Laura an amazing human being, she’s also a great mentor. I absolutely loved the advice she gave, but what I loved even more is that she is such a big supporter of you. She is such a cheerleader that it inspires you to take action in your business, it inspires you to take action that you would normally not take, it inspires you to do better. I just appreciated that so much.
The other thing I got from Shrimp Club was this permission slip to be myself unapologetically. Before this, I was not doing that. I was still putting myself out there with the fear of “What if nobody likes it, or what if people get angry, or what if I get called out?” And after Shrimp Club I really got in this courageous place where I showed up more fully, I showed up with vulnerability, which was appreciated by my audience. I started writing more, getting more traction on my content and my email, and I really really want to thank Laura for that.
The community that Laura builds is mind-blowing. She really picks the best people in the industry. It’s the experts, it’s all of the top people in their industries that you find in Shrimp Club. I found my people. I found my business bestie, my community. People I can message and ask for advice.
It is truly the best community on the internet.
- Deepshikha Sairam, Business Mentor
I had my biggest launch ever ($230k)! It's worth it alone just to have Laura's genius on your copy for 10 minutes.
But even if you come with just a business question or whatever it is, the way you're trying to uplevel, whatever she leaves you with is really motivating. It never feels overwhelming.
I had my biggest launch ever while being in Shrimp Club: $230,000. And I know that that's because of being part of Shrimp Club because the other shrimpers were raving about me referring, remembering me. And so in the middle of a pandemic, I actually launched in a way that was really fun and joyful because of being a part of Shrimp Club.
- Marisa Corcoran, Copywriter, Creator and Host of The Copy Chat
It built my confidence to know that I can transition my business, and that I have the ability and the voice.
And I can make changes in my business that I've been stalling on for years. Now, they're actually happening!
One, The New School, which I've dreamt about for years is being built right now, and should launch in about eight weeks. And I wouldn't have been able to pull that off without the support and the guidance, and just all of the learning, so that's a big win.
- Stephanie King, The Sugarista/ Founder of The London Sugaring Company
If you're ready to bet on yourself then Shrimp Club is for you.
One of the biggest questions I’d ask yourself if you’re thinking about Shrimp Club is, “Are you ready to bet on yourself?” That was what I took away from that experience the most because we all have these ideas or some parts of our business that we want to try something new and we just don’t either have the confidence or the focus or we’re not really sure.
When you surround yourself with the people who are in Shrimp Club and also Laura’s mentoring you learn the fine art of slapping shit up. It’s all about recognizing that you have this idea, you have to follow your gut, you have to bet on yourself for a little while and you’re giving yourself that time and that supportive environment and community to really try something that you were not confident to try on your own.
So if you’re thinking about doing it and you’re not sure I would ask yourself that question, “Are you ready to bet on yourself?” And is this time that you’re going to take that focus and that intention and experiment and slap some shit up on this idea that’s sort of niggling at you and see what happens.
I hope you take that time and I hope you give yourself that gift because it’s an important one.
- Jen Baxter, Copy Queen & Content Strategist

Shrimp Club has absolutely transformed my business and my life.
I joined Shrimp Club because I wanted to be and sound more like me in my copy and business and each time we had a call Laura was able to help me approach my copy and sometimes mindset in a way I never would have on my own. And here’s the icing on the cake, the friendships and collaborations I made are beyond anything I could have ever hoped to have access to.
Shrimp Club definitely sets the bar for what it means to invest in yourself. It has absolutely transformed my business and life.
- Lysandra McGregor, Luxury Branding Strategist
Before Shrimp Club, I was floundering. My business was running me instead of me running it. Now, I have a model that frees me up to create more, earn more, and have more impact with the women I love to work with.
During the course of the program, I launched 2 new services and wrote sales pages that landed me paying clients for each. Not only that, one of my new clients swiped my sales page flow and launched a new service of her own.
I LOVED the group coaching structure so much I decided to launch a group program of my own. [Update: have also launched a successful summit and am currently launching a new program that costs $26k!]
I've spent thousands of dollars on self-study courses over the past 4 years, and this was by far the most useful investment I've made. The monthly content and the people in the group were the cherries on top of the hot-seat-call sundae.
Before Shrimp Club, I was floundering feeling like my business was running me instead of me running it. I felt stuck behind the scenes. After Shrimp Club, I have a model that frees me up to create more, make more, and have more impact with the women I love to work with.
Shrimp Club was so powerful, I came back for round 2. My outcomes, to name a few:
•list from 70-1000+
•FB Group from 0-300+
•Walked away from retainer clients
•Consistent open rates of 38%+ with some as high as 44%.
•Business friends for life
•And, oh yeah - a whole new business model!
- Alyssa Patmos, High Performance Coach and Business Designer
My open rates went from 26% to 41%. Basically, you opened me up! It helped my business and my self-esteem.
"When I put down the money for Shrimp Club I thought it was the craziest thing I ever did, spending so much, but at the end it was so worth it.
The biggest takeaway was that when I write, I can/should be me - authentic, personal and the way I talk. I used all the principles when I wrote my website About page.
My emails are mostly about food recipes that I post on my blog, and B.S.C. (before Shrimp Club) I would just say something like "here's the link to a quinoa soup". Now I share a story, with a beginning, middle and call-to-action-end. My open rates went from 26% to 41%. I enjoy writing them and love the adrenaline rush when people respond and engage.
Basically you opened me up! It helped my business and my self-esteem. English is not my first language and even after 20 years of living in the States, it's sometimes hard for me to express what I want to say.
I lost the fear of being me in my copy and I stopped caring about what others think. I actually lost some subscribers because of it, but I'm cool with that.
Last week, my friend Angela replied to one of my emails and said "Whatever the shrimp lady did, it works - your emails are so much better now."
[UPDATE: Michal is now taking clients as a copywriter - people liked his copy so much, they asked him to write theirs.]
- Michal Martinek, Very Good Cook
Every penny I spent on Shrimp Club (and more) was paid back many times over with my first course launch. It made 50k in its first week! Plus...my open rates more than doubled!
Before joining Shrimp Club, I’d been getting Laura’s emails and bought her 60-minute Makeover course, which helped me get clarity about what I need to show in my website home page.
However, English wasn’t my mother tongue and I want to get better at sending emails to my audience. So when I was invited to join Shrimp Club, I was ecstatic. My husband even offered to pay for it in full. I told him it’d be worth every cent and more. (And I still got the Copy Cure!) Every penny I spent on Shrimp Club, The Copy Cure and her 60-minute make over course combined, I paid for many times over with my first course launch, which made — get this — over 50K on its first week! Having Laura’s eyes on my sales page was a huge part of that success.
But money isn’t all I got from the club, I gained many friends – who I’m still in contact with right now, collaborating and still helping each other. These are friends I wouldn’t know if not for Laura. I’ve also started sending weekly emails to my newsletter subscribers and because I changed the way I write to make it less formal and more “me,” I’ve gotten better responses too! Open rates went up from 11% to 23-25% every email I send. That’s over double!
Shrimp Club is different because the transformation is unlike any other mentoring group. It’s not just about copy. The feedback that you’ll get from Laura and the group will transform the entire way you do business. It did for me!
- Mye De Leon, Hand-Lettering Artist
Shrimp Club helped me grow my list to over 7000 subscribers.
Here’s a short list of what I got out of Shrimp Club:
- An idea (direct from Laura) for repurposing old content that my students now tell me is one of their favorite parts of my program.
- My first $100K launch (while fresh out of maternity leave with my 3-month-old daughter).
- The permission to sell my program to more people than ever while also working less than ever.

This could easily be worth up to £1M over the next few years for us!
Massive wins! Like, we've got a new website, and in the last two months I think we've put a couple hundred more people on our list. That hasn't moved for over a decade, so that's huge for us and it can continue.
It’s no exaggeration that the value we might create from the work we’ve done with you could easily be worth £500,000, £600,000 or £1M over the next 3-5 years for us.
Seeing the camaraderie and support within the Shrimper community and the change you have created in everyone who took part in Shrimp Club was nothing short of amazing.
You delivered. BIG. That’s one hell of a service to humanity. And your Shrimpers are the gift that will keep on giving to the world, doing good and changing the lives of the people they work with. That’s not a ripple outward, it’s a f*cking Tsunami.

Witnessing Laura's genius was amazing but the lifelong connections and friendships I made with our group of badass entrepreneurs was the cherry on top!
I remember seeing an Instagram post about the Shrimp Club the year before I joined. Oof! I had major fomo but I’d already committed to something else that year.
Then when Shrimp Club opened up again I thought,
"Am I gonna do this? Do I even belong in that room?"
And then our first hot seats…
It was pretty amazing to look over Laura's shoulder at her process and witness her genius, hoping just a smidge would rub off on me.
Not gonna lie, that first time I fangirled a bit like "Wow, there’s Laura Belgray my copywriting idol."
One of the things I’ll cherish forever, besides getting Laura's eyeballs on my copy, is the lifelong connections and friendships I made with our group of badass, talented, and generous entrepreneurs.
It didn’t take me long to realize that I belonged there just as much as the next person. I'm proud of me for saying 'yes' even when I didn't think I belonged.
We’re all trying to figure sh*t out and create a life and business that we love.

90% of my income was tied to live events. Then, Coronavirus hit. Now, I have I have this whole new income stream that I got out of Shrimp Club—$45,000 out of the gate!
So I joined Shrimp Club genuinely not knowing what it was for. I just knew that I liked Laura and I thought I'd like her mastermind too. So I assumed based on Laura's profession, that it would be about copywriting. And that's how I approached the first few hot seats.
And then I realized it was about so much more than copywriting. It really is about creating a sustainable, scalable, kickass, awesome, super successful business that you are in charge of, that is not running you into the ground and burning you out. And I saw that transformation both in myself and all the other Shrimpers over the course of the mastermind.
For me, some of the biggest changes are really obvious. So before Shrimp Club, I had no social media presence and no email list. And now I have both, I have more than 2,500 followers on social media, across four or five different platforms. None of that happened before Shrimp Club. And I have a growing email list. I have four lead magnets, which is crazy. I didn't have any and now I have four.
Those changes have been huge because before Shrimp Club, I was 100% running off referrals and word of mouth, which is amazing, but not quite the same as having this massive presence online. So Shrimp Club definitely changed all of that.
But I think the biggest thing for me was Shrimp Club during Coronavirus. Last year, 90% of my revenue was tied to live events. I'm a speaker coach and a speech writer, and basically, when Coronavirus hit my entire calendar, forever, it was wiped clean. Like, I literally went from having tens of thousands of dollars of booked revenue to nothing within a matter of a couple of weeks.
And I really, for a second, thought I was gonna have to go back to a corporate job or do something else. I was like, "This is not going to work, "I'm not making any money, "and I have no future prospects of making any money."
But the Shrimp Club Facebook group was phenomenal, and Laura was phenomenal during that time, because everyone immediately sprung into action and were helping each other come up with all sorts of solutions to everyone's businesses.
And that group inspired me to create an online course. It was something that I'd been kicking around. I was planning on doing it like a year down the road, but definitely not immediately. And everyone in Shrimp Club convinced me not only to do it, but to do it really, really fast. So just about a month after Coronavirus hit, I was launching a frigging course online because of Shrimp Club.
And that course ended up bringing in $45,000, which is wild.
Basically the course that I quickly came up with with the other Shrimpers, replaced a ton of my lost income. And the best thing is that course shows so much potential for the future. I can see how I can just launch it over and over and over and over again.
So basically I have this whole new income stream that I never expected to get out of Shrimp Club, that I got out of Shrimp Club. So all that's to say, I guess it's a little bit more than a copywriting course, and I would highly recommend it to any creative entrepreneur. You are gonna get so much out of it than you could even imagine.

Laura's genius is my North Star!
I joined Shrimp Club to get Laura's eyes on my copy but I got so much more. Connecting with Shrimpers was out of this world. I landed world-famous clients, made business best-friends, and created a community of incredible advocates for my work. Combine that with Laura's copy genius supporting the growth of my agency for 9 months, and I nearly doubled my revenue.

So many wins! I'm halfway through writing my book!
I've had so many wins. I've started writing my book, and I'm almost halfway through. I feel like I have something "bigger" in my business. I wake up in the morning with more excitement because now it's like, the dream that I had [of setting up a school] doesn't seem so far out. So that's huge, and just, your leadership through all of this, I didn't expect that. I signed up for the copy and I got so much more, leadership from you, seeing how you led us through Covid and the tough issues. You've led us through that with so much grace and you made it funny as well. I needed that.
- Gretchen O, Brand Growth Strategist: Createrati
My opt-in rate is up 5900%, I'm selling 3x as many books, and my life is on a completely different trajectory!
When I joined Shrimp Club I had roughly 30 people visit my website each day and I got about 1 sign up to my list a month. And they didn’t always confirm. Also… I was afraid to speak about disordered eating – which was the whole point of my site!
Now, I get between 500 and 1000 people visit my site per day — and signups that convert, thanks to Laura’s help with my lead magnet, welcome sequence and encouraging me to share my story.
That’s an increase of visitors by 2400% and my sign ups are up by 5900%.
Laura’s taught me how to write with personality so when I have sales calls, I’m relaxed because people already know, like and trust me. Discovery Calls feel like 2 friends catching up before we start working together.
I can’t even begin to list what grew out of joining Shrimp Club… from a published article in a university paper to figuring out how to turn my blog into a viable business, to my tagline that I LOVE, to passive income on my site coming soon...to friendships I know I’ll have forever. The synergy in Shrimp Club takes you places you could never get to on your own.
Laura's advice in a single hot seat session was worth the cost of the program alone.
I’m selling 3 times as many books, helping clients, and I feel like my life is on a completely different trajectory.

It's a blessing being surrounded by so many like-minded people—and I have a goal of six figures by December!
Since meeting you guys, my photography has evolved. I have a crazy list of people waiting for me. I am more comfortable speaking to people about my work.
I'm more confident in how I carry myself in the room now after meeting you guys, and meeting more people outside of Shrimp Club through Shrimp Club.
It's a blessing being surrounded by so many like-minded people—In the level that I'm in and where I wanna go in my life, and I actually have a goal of six figures by December.
And that means: financially free and also extra money saved up and my entire year's rent paid! You know all of that stuff is happening this year, if I stay on track.
So, thank you for the energy that you guys put out there, all the beautiful things you create. I feel really blessed to know you all.

Thanks to Laura and Shrimp club, I’m having more fun (doing the exact same work I was doing before), I’m booking more clients, and I’m on track to double my revenue from last year.
"I joined Shrimp Club because I wanted to run a business that felt more like me. And honestly, I thought that I’d have to scrap my current business to do that (I help scientists get research funding by writing better grant proposals). I believed that the only way to succeed was to fit in, which meant a) playing along with all the stuffy, traditional academic BS and b) having basically zero personality. I thought I had to be more buttoned up than I naturally am.
So I tried to find another outlet for my personality and creativity by starting a podcast that was totally unrelated to my business. By the time I joined Shrimp Club I felt pulled in two different directions - my very boring but modestly successful business, and my super fulfilling but expensive hobby of a podcast.
With Laura’s guidance, and with the support of the other incredible Shrimpers, I made some big changes and took some big risks that have really paid off.
I hired the right kind of help.
I put more of myself into my weekly emails.
I improved my copy (with Laura’s guidance, of course)
I made my business and my podcast more visible - on social media and by leveraging other big audiences.
Basically: I stopped hiding.
That changed everything. I’m having more fun (doing the exact same work I was doing before), I’m booking more clients, and I’m on track to double my revenue from last year. And I’m still making the podcast, which now feels like icing on the cake instead of putting pressure on it to be *the one place* I get to be myself. (And I have way more listeners than before, too.)
All the Shrimpers are such amazing humans, which made the calls a lot of fun. I loved watching Laura give copy and business advice in the hot seat sessions - so much so that I stole her model and repurposed it for a course I’m teaching. (And wow, it’s way harder than she makes it look.)
I usually feel like a misfit in business groups because I work in such a tiny niche, so I don’t know how helpful this will be, but: I was trying to distract myself from an unfulfilling business by taking on a side project that let me express my personality. Instead, Shrimp Club helped me find a way to make my current business more fun. Which is *so much* easier than what I was doing."
- Sarah Dobson, Grant Writer
Laura teaches you to look at copy in a new way and in the eyes of your ideal customer. And the results are mind blowing.
"ROCKSTAR!!!
Before I signed up to Shrimp Club, I was skeptical, just like a normal entrepreneur. Two main questions I asked myself, "Will this new training give me tools to scale up my business?" and secondly, "Can I use these new tools to benefit my ICA?".
And the answer is an astounding YES and YES!! Laura teaches you to look at copy in a new way and in the eyes of your ideal customer. And the results are mind blowing.
In a matter of weeks, I've managed to secure more clients using what she teaches. We now offer website copy analysis and clients are lovin' it.
I can't thank Laura enough!"
- Jason Webb, Hospitality Marketing Strategist
I found my voice as a writer and storyteller. Plus, money coming in for just talking about people that you love: a revelation!
The biggest win was finding my voice as a writer and as a storyteller. And emailing my list consistently, not just when I have something to sell, which was a revelation!
I took a lot of risks that I wouldn't have done before, like adding a little product in my PS, and then people buying it, and then it turning into clients in bigger ways.
And then the whole joy of becoming an affiliate. That was just a revelation. That's money coming in for just talking about people that you love and think are awesome, so. Thank you. Thank you so much.

Laura challenged me to discover our quiz quadrant framework that ultimately caught the attention of Josh, co-founder at Interact, which led to a partnership.
Only one year in and my business has a rock-solid foundation. (I owe so much of that to Laura.) My partner and I went from being two corporate boss ladies to becoming strategic partners with Interact creating quizzes for online business owners.
Laura is a copywriting expert who helped me to think outside of the box and encouraged me to question what I wanted to be known for when it came to my business. She challenged me to discover our quiz quadrant framework that ultimately caught the attention of Josh, co-founder at Interact, which led to a partnership.
She also offered invaluable support and marketing advice along the way. I'll forever be grateful for my experience in Shrimp club and will always cherish the friendships I made within the group.

Major business breakthrough! Joining Shrimp Club and having Laura in my corner has been THE best investment of my life.
"I signed up because everything that Laura puts out there is just brilliant. Also because I thought I’d become a better grant writer and learn how to market that business better.
What I got in addition to this was a major business breakthrough:
I'd always toyed with the idea of doing something in the ethical fashion and beauty sphere but was far too scared to do. With the help of Laura and the other Shrimpers, I was encouraged to just take the plunge. Do it. Start a second business where the passion is. And guess what? I'm really good at it!
This program far exceeded my expectations. I thought we'd focus primarily on writing-- how to write better and maybe look at each other's copy in hot seats. But, more than that, it was about how to use copy to succeed in your endeavor-- whatever that is. Joining Shrimp Club and having Laura in my corner has been THE best investment of my life."
- Lindi Conover-Thompson, ethical-fashion copywriter and founder of EP Collaboration
My open rates are much better! And, I get tons of people telling me they LOVE how I write!
I joined because I fell in Love with Laura on a podcast and I had just made the decision to fall in love with blog writing and newsletters because I couldn't have anyone else write them. Laura's newsletters made me smile and I wanted that for those reading mine. Sooo when I heard about her group, I jumped.
I'm much better now at telling a story in all things I write and using subject lines that stop people in their deletion tracks.
My landing pages actually say what I want people to know.
My open rates are much better.
And, I get tons of people telling me they LOVE how I write!
Before Shrimp Club, my agency landing page sold NO memberships in the "open doors" and sold 5 after! That's a win.

Shrimp Club changed my business. But more importantly, it changed my mindset and how I see my work in the world
I thought I was joining Shrimp Club for accountability (and, let’s face it, because I stan Laura), but what Shrimp Club is really about is greatness.
Laura herself is great, but so are the other Shrimpers because Laura attracts beautiful powerhouses. When you stand alongside greatness, you cannot help but rise to become great yourself, and that’s what Shrimp Club ultimately did for me.
When I look back at the Reese from summer of 2019, I don’t recognize her. Before I joined, I operated in fear mode: afraid of doing the wrong thing, of pissing people off, of “getting it wrong” (whatever “it” is—some bogeyman I created in my head). I couldn’t fully see my own worth, but Shrimp Club helped me do that and so much more.
For starters, Shrimp Club helped me finally launch an email list. Instead of a snoozefest corporate newsletter, I write hard-hitting reports from the trenches about fish men on Tinder (and get rave reviews from my readers).
I launched a course that sold out in a week.
I’ve nearly doubled my income, which is the biggest revenue growth I’ve seen in years. But it’s not just the income that’s the outcome: it’s me evolving into a person who has no problem articulating the value of the transformations I provide, and selling them accordingly.
One of the things that makes Laura so compelling, beyond her mad copy skills, is her accessibility as a leader. Despite her success and connections, she treats every Shrimper as a person who could easily rise to a similar level. She’s hilarious, down to earth, and kind beyond what I ever expected.
Shrimp Club, Laura, and my fellow Shrimpers changed my business. But more importantly, they changed my mindset and how I see my work in the world—joining Shrimp Club was a far better, and more life-changing decision than going gluten free for a year (and tastier, too).
- Reese Spykerman, Ecommerce Consultant
Straight up?
I'm on-my-knees thankful to have joined Shrimp Club.
Getting 1:1 hot seat time with Laura is game-changing. As a mostly-solopreneur, I'd be in my own head about making choices for my brand strategy & copywriting business...then, a Shrimp Club call would bring such clarity. Laura offers hilarious (yet no fluff) insights on topics like copy, naming, lead magnets, email list building and getting seen as an expert. With individual hot seat time, you're sure to get questions answered and personalized feedback. Bad. @$$. Plus, the people in Shrimp Club are the best humans. Our FB group was filled with engaging conversations, laughing emojis and support. In fact, we liked each other so much, 5 of us made the effort to meet up in LA and surprise Laura on a call! (Best "got ya!" surprise ever.)
I've even by hired by several Shrimpers now. Between collaborations with fellow Shrimpers & referrals from Laura (#SoDamnThankful) - the projects brought in $1000s, covering my investment for Shrimp Club within months of joining. From an ROI standpoint? Worth it. Emotional / mindset / WTF do I do now standpoint? Worth it. Even more into the fierce Laura Belgray? Aw ya.#TeamShrimpClub"

So many wins, I'm staying for another round!
There've been so many wins. I'm completely confident that I'll be able to write the sales page and email copy for my program and get it going, and this whole thing I'm creating will be a rinse and repeat that I'll do probably every quarter. So I'm stoked for that, I'm excited! So much so, that I've joined for another round—along with my partner!
- Kisma Orbovich, Creator of The Prosperity Code
if you're someone who wants to learn how to put your personality into your business, then you should apply for Shrimp Club.
I delivered my first live workshop, recorded my first podcast episode, and started using live videos to share my message. I’m well on the path to getting paid to be me!
An added bonus is that, Laura only accepts super awesome people into Shrimp Club. In addition to working with Laura, you get to meet and build connections with all these other amazing people, on the same wavelength as you, from all around the world. It's priceless.
- Trish Mossman, Founder: Unwrite The Rules
I became a writer in Shrimp Club, gained confidence, and made great friends. Some I hired, some hired me.
I joined Shrimp Club because I've been following Laura for several years. And I was dreaming of hiring her. And I remember that month, she announced that she's no longer taking any client work. And I was like, "Oh oh." So when she rolled out Shrimp Club, I was like, "This is a great deal." You get her at that price? I was in.
I have learned a lot from Laura. She is so generous, sharing her knowledge, answering your questions. She will talk about anything you wanna talk about and give her honest opinion, copy or not. I needed help with copy. And I was also struggling writing emails to my list. My list was forgetting who the hell I am and unsubscribing every time I sent an email.
That was all fixed. Now I write emails on a regular basis. It's at least once a week, sometimes more when I'm promoting something.
Also I made great friends in the group. The quality of people you get in the Shrimp Club is unbelievable. They are top notch. Some of them I hired, some hired me.
I've redone my websites. I used Laura's help to rewrite some websites, new course name, new taglines, new everything. And she looked at some of my blog posts. Copy wise, I was very supported. And besides, there's always somebody who is proficient in copy inside the group and they always give you their opinion. It was a massive learning experience.
My favorite part of course, was Laura and her personality. She's incredibly approachable. And that made everything even sweeter. Last but not least, I became a lot more confident as a personality brand, I got such great feedback from people supporting me, telling me what could be better. And having that feedback is important because nobody will tell you the truth in your face like your friends will. And I got that.
If you are having any doubts about joining Shrimp Club, run. I hope I'll see you inside.
- Irina Leoni, Master your Brand Photos
I got a clear path forward! I finally get to bring my personality to my business, be me, and make money just from writing emails.
I joined because I wanted to see inside Laura Belgray's business, which is, as you know, a very laid back business. And I really wanted my business to be hers, when it grows up. I want it to be easygoing, chill, and I want it to be like me. I want me to be in my business.
I wanted to pick her brain and see how she writes emails that are so much fun to read. And she still sells in those emails. So I wanted to get her strategy on that.
So what did I get out of Shrimp Club? Oh my gosh. A lot.
I got a clear path forward. Every hot seat gave me this light through the forest, through all my sticky problems that I was wrestling with that week. I needed some sort of direction.
And it sounds funny 'cause I'm an email copywriter, but I still struggled a lot with overcoming this mental roadblock about emailing my list. It's so funny to think about now, because before, I hardly ever sent out emails to my list. I hated it. I did everything I could to avoid sending out an email to my list, because I didn't know what to say. I felt self conscious. I felt like I couldn't bring me to my business.
And now, after Shrimp Club, I've been sending weekly and sometimes twice weekly emails to my list. I get awesome replies like, "Your story is so relatable." "Oh my gosh, you read my mind" Best of all: "Hey, I wanna work with you because of your emails." I know that I'm onto something now.
I went from nothing to at least five replies per email I send.
Someone soon bought my brand new cold email course just because of my emails. He said, "I wanted to be in your course because you sound like a kind, trustworthy person that I wanna learn from." Next, I signed a client for a one day VIP package because of my emails.
Thanks to Shrimp Club, I finally get to bring my personality to my business and to show up as fully me and people like that, which is awesome. I didn’t have the guts before.
Shrimp Club, at its core, let me get more money.
And this big personal transformation. I discovered it doesn't have to be like as hard as I was making it out to be. That business could be fun and easy and profitable. And I could even show up as myself, which is the biggest bonus.
Laura motivated, inspired, encouraged and problem solved with me. That helped me make huge changes in my business, and do things that I was previously really frickin' scared to do. And now they're not really so hard anymore. So, if you're a copywriter or you run a personality driven business, or you are the business, you totally need to be in Shrimp Club.
