In the time I was in Shrimp Club, I wrote my book, built my brand, and launched to my list!
First of all, Laura has changed my life completely. Fundamentally. When we had our first hot seat, she wanted us to give a bit of our background. “I want that, but I don’t want to DO that.”
I should be so much farther ahead.
That’s the thought I had for years. Since I started my business in 2009, I saw a number of my friends who’d started with me become huge names with even huger yearly revenues.
I wanted the glory—especially the money part. But when I looked at what they were doing for it, I thought, “I don’t want to do that.”

The Talking Shrimp One-Sheet: your prompts and missions for the month
Each month, on a single sheet of paper -- if you print it -- you’ll get all the thought-starters you need to email your list at least once a week, plus to stockpile a few extras for a rainy day (or gone-to-hell week).
Do they have to be emails? Not at all. It’s what I recommend, but you can write blog posts, Instagram captions, book chapters. However you want to thrill your audience and make them beg for more.

90% of my income was tied to live events. Then, Coronavirus hit. Now, I have I have this whole new income stream that I got out of Shrimp Club—$45,000 out of the gate!
So I joined Shrimp Club genuinely not knowing what it was for. I just knew that I liked Laura and I thought I'd like her mastermind too. So I assumed based on Laura's profession, that it would be about copywriting. And that's how I approached the first few hot seats.

I'm a speaker coach and a speech writer, and basically, when Coronavirus hit my entire calendar, forever, it was wiped clean. Like, I literally went from having tens of thousands of dollars of booked revenue to nothing within a matter of a couple of weeks.
And I really, for a second, thought I was gonna have to go back to a corporate job or do something else. I was like, "This is not going to work, "I'm not making any money, "and I have no future prospects of making any money."
But the Shrimp Club Facebook group was phenomenal, and Laura was phenomenal during that time, because everyone immediately sprung into action and were helping each other come up with all sorts of solutions to everyone's businesses.
And that group inspired me to create an online course. It was something that I'd been kicking around. I was planning on doing it like a year down the road, but definitely not immediately. And everyone in Shrimp Club convinced me not only to do it, but to do it really, really fast. It's so funny to think about now, because before, I hardly ever sent out emails to my list. I hated it. I did everything I could to avoid sending out an email to my list, because I didn't know what to say. I felt self conscious. I felt like I couldn't bring me to my business.
And now, after Shrimp Club, I've been sending weekly and sometimes twice weekly emails to my list. I get awesome replies like, "Your story is so relatable." "Oh my gosh, you read my mind" Best of all: "Hey, I wanna work with you because of your emails." I know that I'm onto something now.
I went from nothing to at least five replies per email I send.

The first week that we kicked off the mastermind I watched ALL the content we had access to. When I heard Laura share in a video that she DOESN'T batch her content AND does social media herself, I was like "HALLELUJAH!!!".
For yearrrrrrs I've berated myself cause I wasn't "batching" like the millionaire experts, and thought I needed to hire a social media expert because isn't that what all the cool kids do? (even though I love doing it myself).
Shrimp club has helped me realize that I get to do business my way, keep doing what's fun for me, and either hire out or stop doing the rest. BIG win for me!
During this round, I checked off many things on my "list" like an awesome bio, a new website, and an opt-in that I love! I met the most incredible Shrimpers that I continue to stay in touch with and will be for years to come.
But my biggest win? I got the confidence to pitch myself and landed a spot in Life Coach magazine and got asked to submit another article. And I finally feel like I deserve to be in the room.
